Social media bootcamp: My tips on managing an online brand

Here’s a talk I have often given to individuals and some groups, but have never written down: My tips on how to grow and maintain your brand on social media.

Now a presentation I’m scheduled to give to the social media staff of Health by Design has spurred me to put together a Power Point slide deck. Just going to put this right here for myself and anyone else who needs it!

On the heels of #AdviceForYoungJournalists (which seems to have been sparked by a Felix Salmon blog post), Twitter lit up today with a similar hashtag, #AdviceForYoungAcademics.

NYT A1 points to debate on re-usage guidelines for Instagram, other social media

Part of my research this semester focuses on legal issues arising from the re-use of social media assets such as photos, posts and videos. I’m developing guidelines for their re-use by several communities I care about: journalists, social media users and bloggers, as well as artists, publishers, businesses and, of course, lawyers, judges and other officers of our court system.
